Man arrested after altercation in St Leonards
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in St Leonards.

Officers were called around 7pm on Wednesday 12 August to reports of an altercation between two men on London Road.

The men both headed into Silchester Road, where one of them suffered injuries to his face and back.

Man charged with supplying Class A drugs in St Leonards
Police have charged a man with supplying Class A drugs in St Leonards.

On Thursday (August 13), officers in plain clothes were patrolling Gensing Gardens when they witnessed a suspected drugs deal take place.

Enquiries led police to an address in Tower Road West and on Friday morning (August 14), officers attended and found and seized approximately 150 wraps of suspected crack cocaine.

Hastings man sentenced for sexual offences against three girls
A Hastings man is starting a prison sentence for a series of online sexual offences against three girls who he targeted via social media.

Jamie Welch, 31, a kitchen worker, of St Georges Road, Hastings, was sentenced to a total of three-and-a-half years imprisonment at Hove Crown Court on Monday 17 August, having pleaded guilty on 10 July to counts of causing each of the three girls to engage, separately, in online sexual activity, and to a further count of disclosing a private sexual photograph without the consent of one of them.

Man arrested after threatening to harm police in Hastings
Police are appealing for witnesses after they were called to reports of a dispute between neighbours at a block of flats in Priory Avenue, Hastings, at 3.40am on Saturday (15 August).

Two occupants in one of the flat had been playing music loudly and had refused to turn it down. When police arrived at the scene, a man in the property threatened to shoot them.

This week’s scam and fraud warnings from Action Fraud:
  • We are aware of scammers claiming to be from HMRC offering financial support as a result of coronavirus. If you receive a text, email or call claiming to be from HMRC that asks you to click on a link or give info such as your name, credit card or bank details, it's a scam.
         
  • 95 people have reported losing over £44,000 to a PayPal scam that lures in victims using hacked Facebook accounts. Find out more here
